Accumulation/Distribution
A technical indicator developed by Mark Chaikin. If the close price is above the midpoint of the regular range, then a positive number that indicates buying pressure (accumulation) will return. Similarly, if the close price is below the midpoint of the range, then a negative number means a selling pressure (distribution) is restored. The daily volume is multiplied by the amount above, to determine the price weight in the indicator calculation.
Calculation: [ (close – low) – (high – close) x volume] / (high – low)
